I have a plan.
I have an information product, a website selling it, AND two other websites (including this one).
Things are actually going pretty well in my world. A wee bit slow but moving along and I can push it when I need to.
So why did I interview for a job the other day?
Not only a job-job, but a job working for yet another Philadelphia nonprofit in yet another dysfunctional environment at, dare I say it, even lower wages than when I last worked full-time in 2003.
My instincts were practically propelling me physically out the door as I learned that, well, yes, the last development director lasted less than a year. Uh, no, they didn’t know if they had a contract with the vendor of their database software.
Everything was all too typical of nonprofit jobs I’ve had in the past and either quit or been fired from.
Why did I even say that I would consider returning for a second interview with a board member?
Sigh.
Well it is nice to be able to pay the rent.
